Lds Lineage

LDS: Do you reject the baptisms of ALL other denominations, accepting only LDS baptism?
I understand that you teach that baptism must be administered "by the proper authority." If a person received their non-LDS baptism from a blood-descendant of Levi through the lineage of Aaron and Zadok (as prescribed in Scripture), would it still be rejected by the LDS church? Is there any circumstance at all under which a non-LDS baptism would be acceptable to the LDS church?
LDS Gospel Principles, pp. 131ff.:
"Jesus revealed to the prophet Joseph Smith that a person having the proper priesthood authority shall go down into the water with the person who has presented himself or herself for baptism... (D&C 20:73-74)."
Heritage, authority and keys are separate.
Through the laying on of hands, men are given the keys of the priesthood. But they do not have the authority to use them. The only man on earth that has the authority to use all of the keys of the priesthood on earth is the prophet of God (currently Thomas S. Monson).
The prophet can give the authority to use the keys of the priesthood to others as needed. So he gives the authority to use the keys of baptism to all mission presidents, along with the authority to delegate that authority to other priesthood holders in his mission (such as missionaries).
My husband holds the priesthood, thus he has the keys of the priesthood. But he does not have the authority to use all of those keys. He can use those that are related to being the patriarch of our family without permission, but that is it. When our daughter turned 8, my husband had to receive authority from the bishop to baptize our daughter. If my husband had baptized our daughter without receiving that authority, her baptism would not have been valid.
A descendant of Levi has the heritage, but neither the keys or the authority until he is ordained.
So no, we would not accept a baptism from any man that has not been ordained to the priesthood, received the keys and authorization to baptize in the name of Lord.
*Oceanwoman - actually, it's the Aaronic Prieshtood that gives the keys to baptism (thus Priests in the Young Men program can baptize). They Melchizadek Priesthood is required to confirm and give the gift of the Holy Ghost.

MORmON MORmON ? OR CATHOLIC MORmON ? f FEM VOCALS
LDS: Working on my geneaology. I am adopted, and was advised to do my adoptive family. Here's the thing though?
Four generations back comes a relation in common to both lineages. Can I do my whole natural family too? I know that some people who have died recently can only be done by a family member. Natural or adoptive or both?
@ Morganie that is just what I am doing but on behalf of a friend who borrowed my account Good luck on the adoption.
Normally for sealings you would be doing only your adoptive family, but since your adoptive and natural family cross, you are allowed to do both. The thing to be careful about is that you don't seal people together who don't belong together. Don't seal yourself to your natural parents because you are sealed to your adoptive parents (though I'm not sure--they may make exceptions), but you can seal all the husbands and wives together, as well as the children they didn't adopt out. Since both families link up, you will be sealed to both families either way.
