Lineage Pets
Is it strange to find one of these in a pet store?
Yesterday I was at Petco looking at fish when I came across this gorgeous turquoise rosetail betta (which, as a betta enthusiast, I just HAD to buy). He looks a lot like this one: http://th06.deviantart.net/fs26/150/i/2009/245/f/d/Karma_Rosetail_Betta_by_DarkMoon17.jpg
but the maroon parts are this turquoise color: http://www.bettasrus.net/stock/lineage/images/09img/turqs/Betta%20VP-01c.jpg
So onto my real question... is it unusual to find this beautiful of a fish at a normal pet store? He was pretty expensive, about $12.
Also, I need a little help naming him... I usually name my fish after Harry Potter characters, but other names are good, too. I was thinking Gilderoy Lockhart, or something ancient Greek?

Rosetails are not as common as some other variants, and the price was for the fin shape, not the color. They have such beautiful elegant fins.
The coloration you mention is fairly common (and actually one of my favorites, my Betta, Charlie, is a crowntail with the same markings you describe).
As far as names, how about: Nereus, Pontos, Proteus, Thaumas, Triton, Poseidon,
